Warm Honey-Cocoa Butter Rolls

A five-minute sweet-and-salty snack built on warm bread, cold butter, wildflower honey, and unsweetened cocoa.

Some snacks earn their place through restraint. These warm rolls keep the idea strikingly simple: lightly toasted bread, a thick slab of cold salted butter, a drizzle of raw wildflower honey, and a focused dusting of unsweetened cocoa.

The contrast is the point. The cut sides of the roll are crisp at the edges but still soft within, while the butter begins to loosen against the warmth without disappearing into the bread. Honey adds floral sweetness; cocoa brings a dry, gently bitter counterpoint; a pinch of flaky salt makes the whole combination more vivid.

On the plate, the open roll shows its layers plainly—the pale butter set against toasted bread and a dark cocoa stripe down the center. It is an unfussy snack with a little drama, best served right away while the bread is warm and the butter is just beginning to soften. At A MyHomeBistro table, it is a reminder that a few good ingredients can make a memorable bite.

# Honey-Cocoa Butter Sandwiches
**Timing & heat:** 5 minutes; toast the rolls cut-side down in a dry skillet over medium heat.

## Ingredients
– 2 small crusty rolls, split lengthwise
– 4 tablespoons cold salted butter, cut into thick slabs
– 2 teaspoons honey, plus a little more for finishing
– 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
– Flaky salt

## Steps
1. Heat a dry skillet over medium heat. Toast the cut sides of the rolls lightly, until crisp while the centers remain soft.
2. Divide the cold butter between the warm rolls, using 2 tablespoons per roll.
3. Drizzle 1 teaspoon honey over the butter in each roll. Dust each with 1/2 teaspoon cocoa powder, concentrating it along the center.
4. Add a tiny pinch of flaky salt. Close the rolls gently without pressing out the butter.

## Watch For
– Keep the bread lightly toasted, not hard or deeply browned.
– Serve while the bread is warm and the butter is softening at the edges.

## Plate & Present
Cut each sandwich on a diagonal. Arrange the two halves on each plate, finish with a light drizzle of honey, wipe the rims, and serve immediately.
